Skydance Paramount Set to Eliminate Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – Report
Paramount Skydance plans to begin large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, removing about 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
These job cuts follow the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August valued at $8.4bn.
Additional international job cuts are expected, as the firm planning to announce complete information via its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Prior news had indicated the firm aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.
By December 2024, the company had about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance has not yet commented regarding the report.
